Bangladesh e-Passport, NID & visa photo sizes — and how to meet them exactly
The exact pixel dimensions and file-size caps BD government and job portals ask for (300×300 ≤100KB and friends), and how to produce a compliant photo from any picture.
Bangladeshi government portals and institutional forms are strict about uploaded photos — and they reject files silently or with vague errors when the specs aren't met. Here are the requirements you'll actually run into, and how to hit them precisely.

Two things trip people up:
- Both constraints bind at once. Resizing to 300×300 is easy; getting under 100KB at that size depends on the photo's detail. A busy background eats your byte budget.
- Aspect ratio. A phone photo is not square. Naively resizing a 3:4 portrait to 300×300 stretches your face. The photo must be cropped to the target shape first, then resized.
Doing it in one step

- Plain light background; even lighting; no shadows across the face.
- Face centred and looking straight on — crop before worrying about file size.
- Don't upscale a tiny photo to meet pixel dimensions; blur gets rejected too.
