Verify before you print: these figures are consistently published for Bangladesh and follow the ICAO Doc 9303 standard, but we have not read them off a government page ourselves. Requirements change โ India moved from 51ร51mm to 35ร45mm in September 2025 โ and the instruction from the office handling your application always wins. Issuing authority
What trips people up
- The online e-Passport application does not ask adults to upload a photo at all โ the biometric photo is captured at the passport office or at a mission abroad.
- Printed photos are for the summary sheet at missions abroad; sizes quoted by different missions vary, so follow the one handling your file.
- For Bangladeshi government job applications through Teletalk the requirement is different again โ 300ร300px under 100KB, in colour.
Making the photo
Physical size is what the authority specifies, so work in millimetres and let the pixels follow. At 300 DPI, 45ร55mm is exactly 531ร650 pixels โ that is the number most upload forms quote, and it is the same photo, not a different one.
A phone photo is not the right shape, so it has to be cropped to 45:55 before resizing โ squashing it to fit distorts your face and gets the application rejected. The Passport & Visa Photo Maker centre-crops, sizes to the exact millimetres, and can lay out a 4ร6in sheet of copies for a print shop. It runs entirely in your browser โ your photo is never uploaded.
