No — this uses your device camera right in the browser. The scanner mode auto-detects page edges, straightens the page and boosts contrast, then combines multiple captures into one PDF.
Why does it need camera permission / HTTPS?
Browsers only expose the camera on secure (HTTPS) pages and only after you grant permission. The video never leaves your device — capture and processing are entirely local. You can also upload existing photos instead.
