It depends on resolution and motion, but a 4K phone clip typically shrinks 5–10× when re-encoded at 720p with a sensible bitrate — a 400MB minute becomes roughly 15–30MB.
Why does this tool need a server?
Video re-encoding is heavy — it runs on our server with ffmpeg, and your file is deleted automatically right after processing. You'll see a queue position for big files.
